Many gamers have been breeding secret hopes of seeing a second Shenmue sequel on next-gen consoles, but it won’t happen. Sega president Simon Jeffery shot down those hopes, stating that there are no plans for Shenmue 3 now. However, to keep our hopes alive, he didn’t say there’s “not a chance.” Right?
許多玩家一直懷著希望可以看到莎木系利現身於次世代主機,
但它不可能發生了。SEGA社長摧殘那些希望,表示現在沒有莎木3的計畫

MSNBC: How long of a lifespan do you see for the Wii?
Miyamoto: In looking at video games, and obviously, it’s been a short history, I’ve seen patterns where you have more refinements as you go from one system to the next, followed by big evolutions, or big changes. And example would be going from the NES to the Super NES was more of a refinement, and going from the Super NES to the Nintendo 64 was more of a big advancement.
So, looking at the recent history, I’d say that the DS and Wii together represent some of those very big changes, both on the handheld and the home console side. Based on past history, I would guess that we would see some refinement sometime in the next five to 10 years and then in another five to 10 years, you would see probably the next big evolution.

宮本:看看電視遊樂器這領域吧,很顯然地一直是個簡短的歷史,
所仿照的就是從一個主機系統到下一代主機系統更加的精緻高尚,然後
伴隨著極大的演化,或是極大的改變。一個例子就是從NES(紅白機)
到了Super NES(超任)是更加的精緻,然後又從Super NES到了N64
又是一個極大的突破。
那看看近代歷史,我會說DS和Wii是那些大變化裡的代表,
兩者在掌機領域上和家用機領域上。根據過去的歷史,我猜測
在下一個5到10年裡我們會看到一些精緻高尚的東西,然後在另一個
5到10年裡,你可能會看到下一個極大的演化。
