Aonuma won’t quit the Zelda series until he surpasses the quality of Ocarina

“I’m happy that a title I worked on some time ago remains highly praised to this day, but that also shows how none of the subsequent games in the series have surpassed it.

As someone who is still working on the series, I have mixed feelings about that. Because I haven’t yet surpassed it, I can’t quit.

我很高興過去所開發的這款作品,至今評價還是如此高,但那也表示,


這系列後來所推出的作品,仍然沒有一款可以超越時之笛。

團隊裡的一些同事還是繼續開發此系列,我的心情感到錯綜複雜。


我還沒做出超越時之笛的作品,所以我不能就這樣結束。

令人意外的是,就是這樣簡短的動機讓我繼續開發薩爾達系列作的理由吧

Monolith Soft對大災難續作的想法,可能會登陸DS,也準備好要開發霸天開拓史新作了

Monolith Soft has ideas for Disaster 2, could bring to DS, and is ready to make a new Baten Kaitos

“…there were so many wonderful options [ in Disaster: Day of Crisis ]. We would like to see the possibility for them, if we have chance to develop the sequel…we can consider [ a DS version ] if we have many requests.” - Keiichi Ono, Director at Monolith Soft

Mr. Ono seemed sad to say that Disaster is definitely tracking behind expected sales. He doesn’t hold out much hope for sequels unless fans speak up. On a happy note, Mr. Ono also said that his team is “willing to start developing Baten Kaitos” whenever they get the go-ahead from Nintendo.

在大災難這款作品裡,實在有好多很好的選擇讓我們選,假如我們有機會開發續作的話,我們會盡其所能發展這款作品的可能性…我們會考量”DS版本”假如有人要求我們做的話

Ono先生要表達的意思,明顯是跟背後所預期的銷售量有關。除非玩家開口,不然他不會對這款作品的續作抱太大希望,令人高興的一點是,Ono先生也表示他的遊戲團隊”非常有願意開發霸天開拓史”只差老任說一句放手去做吧。
