NDS歐洲再創銷售紀錄
I guess it just wasn’t enough for the DS…it couldn’t be happy with shattering a record in the UK. Today, Nintendo announces that the Nintendo DS has broken a record in France.
The system has sold through 6 million units, making it the best-selling video game platform in France…ever. It’s true, no other gaming platform has ever reached the 6 million sold mark. Congrats DS, you’ve set yourself up with quite a legacy.

Wii魔物獵人3 官網更新及Capcom獨占會談
Earlier today, we heard some information that pointed to Monster Hunter 3 possibly going to another platform after it’s Wii release.
Capcom has since updated their official Japanese page for Monster Hunter 3 with a bit of info. They say that right now, they only plan to bring out a Wii version. They have nothing else to say at this time.
I think they are just keeping us all quiet for now. A Wii port to PSP would make sense, especially for the Japanese market. At the very least, we can be sure that the game will definitely hit Wii.

80萬台Wii在感恩節周售出,經濟風暴對任天堂一點影響也沒有
“When the economy is strong, people tend to buy three things from the top of their wish list. But when things are bad, people often buy only the first thing on their list. Fortunately for us a lot of shoppers put our products at the top of their list.” - Satoru Iwata
Iwata also dropped some details on sales of Wii and DS. According to the Nintendo president, the Wii managed to sell over 800,000 units during Thanksgiving week alone (in North America). That would beat out the 350,000 units it managed to sell during the same period last year. Not forgetting the portable side of things, Iwata confirmed that DS sales were up 20% during Thanksgiving week, when compared to sales during the same time last year (once again, North America only).

對惡魔城夢幻新作所存的一絲希望
To be honest, either of those could be really cool. But there’s definitely one that I’m hoping to see more.
I ran into Iga at the Tokyo Game Show back on October and asked him about it. He couldn’t say, but the question brought a huge smile to his face. As much as I suspect we’re getting the 3D game, a big part of me wants to believe his smile hinted otherwise.

水口哲也正開發Wii的音樂遊戲
Mizuguchi, the man behind Rez and Lumines, has announced that he is working on a music game for the Wii.
Right now, the only thing we know about the project is that it’s called ‘QJ’.
Mizuguchi hopes that this game will bring us a new way to play music titles, thanks to the Wiimote.

激情卡車製作人正在開發最高機密的任天堂新作
Right now, the 20 employees at Monster Games are working on a top-secret video game for Nintendo. They’ve worked on it for two years and are nearly finished. The process is so private the designers must darken their monitors when the bottled-water deliveryman enters the office.
Monster Games worked on ExciteTruck for the Wii, and it seems that their specialty is creating racing games. No mention as to what platform they are developing on. With their racing game background, I am thinking they could be working on an F-Zero or Pilotwings sequel.

Capcom不確定是否會製作以針對DSi為特色的作品
As the Nintendo DSi was just released recently, Capcom would like to see the response of users in the future and respond to that. We select the console based on our game concept.
Therefore, after analyzing the sales situation and user trends for Nintendo DSi, if we have some contents suitable for the console, we will consider it. - Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto
I wonder if Capcom has a set number that they’d like to see the DSi hit, and then they would be convinced to developer DSi-specific games.

“…there were so many wonderful options [ in Disaster: Day of Crisis ]. We would like to see the possibility for them, if we have chance to develop the sequel…we can consider [ a DS version ] if we have many requests.” - Keiichi Ono, Director at Monolith Soft
Mr. Ono seemed sad to say that Disaster is definitely tracking behind expected sales. He doesn’t hold out much hope for sequels unless fans speak up. On a happy note, Mr. Ono also said that his team is “willing to start developing Baten Kaitos” whenever they get the go-ahead from Nintendo.

Wii 魔物獵人3—遊戲細節透露

Sony PSP沒有活在DS的陰影之下

快打旋風4登陸Wii確實”可行的”
1UP: There’s been some talk from Capcom — I can’t remember if it
was you or someone else who said this — that if there’s enough demand
for it, a Wii version of Street Fighter 4 could be possible.So where are you
with things now? How would you view a Street Fighter game on the Wii
— would you keep it as “Street Fighter 4〃 or do some sort of
”Street Fighter Kids”?
YO: Yeah, it’s definitely true that we’ve had a lot of requests for a port
for the Wii. And it’s definitely doable. We just don’t have any plans for
it yet, that’s all. If we feel strongly enough that it would sell, I’d imagine
we’d do it.
1UP: So is there really any question within Capcom that a Wii version
would sell?
YO: Going back to my philosophy for Street Fighter, the game is
essentially a tool, not just a unique piece of entertainment. I think of
it like chess— that game can be played anywhere.
As long as people want to play Street Fighter 4, it could be on anything —
even this iPhone, for that matter [Points to the iPhone on the table].
It really could be on any platform that could support it. So let’s just
see what happens.

也不例外,快打旋風4真的有可能出現於任何支持自己平台的平台上。

“Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development.” - Nintendo of America representative
Another typical quick answer from Nintendo, but this one is short and sweet. A confirmation that the game is still in development is a good thing. Let’s just hope that all this dev time makes for a good game, instead of us waiting on a mediocre one.

又一個典型的任天堂式回答,但這次的答覆是又簡短且甜美。
證實這款遊戲還在開發中是件好事。希望我們引頸期盼的會是

Capcom 不願評論北美版的魔物獵人3
老天阿,我不能透露這項訊息,但我的答案一直都是一樣的那就是:
魔物獵人系列作會逐漸認真看待西方市場。我們有長期的企圖心要
讓這遊戲品牌在西方市場成長到跟在日本一樣的空前成功。
除此之外,我不能再透露明確的細節了就參考來源而言,
即使是日本方面,魔物獵人3還無法公布發售日期(即使是收售年也是一樣)

A portion of a 1up interview with Suda51 and Shinji Mikami…
1up: …what does EA bring to this collaboration?
SM: Money. [Laughs]
GS: I was really surprised at things such as the size of their studios, and their massive marketing and production teams.I’ve never had the experience of working on such a massive team before. We haven’t done voice recording yet, but I know EA would be a huge help in finding talent and getting them to the studio and the motion capture as well.In other cases, I would want to do something before but couldn’t, and since working with EA, they’ve provided everything I wanted. I get tremendous support from EA.
1UP: Did you go around to other publishers before deciding on EA, or was EA your first and only stop?
[Mikami quickly pantomimes a progression, saying “A, B, C, and D” while Suda answers.]
GS: Of course I had a chance to present it to different publishers, but EA was the company that understood the game and understood my approach to it. That’s why I took the chance to work with EA. Also, EA produced Rock Band, so they understand the “soul of rock.”
1UP: Last question, in both Killer 7 and No More Heroes, there’s always a zany dude named Travis. Will Travis make an appearance in this game?
[Suda’s eyes light up when he hears the name “Travis.”]
GS: Travis? A secret, sorry. (Smiles)

<謠言>LucasArts 對任天堂宣布MotionPlus 感到心煩
LucasArts upset with Nintendo over MotionPlus announcement
One company that is said to be extremely upset is LucasArts. With Star Wars: The Clone Wars being a Wii-exclusive, you would think Nintendo might have let them in on this secret. Everyone wants a 1:1 Wiimote/lightsaber game, and if LucasArts knew of the MotionPlus, they might have been able to deliver something by accessory launch. Instead, Nintendo hid the announcement from all. The biggest slap in the face was showing off The Clone Wars during the E3 media briefing. Announce the MotionPlus, and then show us the Star Wars game that doesn’t use it…not very nice, Nintendo.This is one of those rumors that isn’t very hard to believe at all.

<謠言> 樂高版的哈利波特??
We know that Traveller’s Tales is working on more Lego games. We also know that they are looking at other Warner Bros. licenses to convert to the Lego world. With that said, the big rumor going around right now is that Harry Potter and his friends are set for a Lego makeover. Once again, I think the Harry Potter franchise is a great choice for a Lego conversion. The ideas and mechanics of the story could translate really well. The only problem is, with one more Lego title, I feel that the franchise is being driven into the ground that much more.

All listings called for the game to hit Winter 2008. Now, with Square-Enix’s special event going on, something has changed. The latest information now states that the game will hit ‘this Winter’, but without the 2008 tied to it. Does this mean a delay past 2008 is going to happen?

S: Right now we know Street Fighter IV will come out on three home platforms, but have you thought about the Wii at all?
YO: The more people that ask about it, the more likely we are to move in that direction. The very existence of Street Fighter IV was based on people asking about it for so long. If we get a lot of requests it will be something we will think about. It might be difficult to reproduce the graphics exactly as they are, but the gameplay should be completely intact. It’s something we can think about.
S: Here’s a thought. You know how Capcom is reviving Mega Man 9? Maybe you can use sprites like in the old Street Fighter games and have a special Wii version.
YO: Maybe we can do some kind of collaboration with the HD remix or something. We’ll have to think about that one.
