Wii 死亡復甦於2月24日發售?



While GameStop and other retailers say that Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is coming out on January 20th, Capcom’s own online store dates the game for February 24th.

“With the release of Dragon Quest IX, there are two things I’d like to make reality.
The first is to build a thriving Japanese game market together with Dragon Quest that rivals the West’s.

The second is to form a strong tag team to promote Dragon Quest overseas.

At Nintendo, we were able to popularize the Brain Age series overseas, which was said to be unmarketable.

I want to increase the number of people worldwide that understand the appeal of Dragon Quest, which represents all Japanese gaming culture…even if that only turns out to be a single person.

GS: Will the “Let’s” lineup become a series of games?
YN: If it sells well enough, sure. Of course, you can’t really say how well it’ll sell at this point, but if it does great — if we can get a lot of people to play it and enjoy it — I’d love to make another one.
GS: Is Prope focused on these types of simpler games?
YN: We’re actually planning on making a game like Sonic right now. We want to keep trying to make various kinds of games.

NDS歐洲再創銷售紀錄

Nintendo DS breaks record in France

I guess it just wasn’t enough for the DS…it couldn’t be happy with shattering a record in the UK. Today, Nintendo announces that the Nintendo DS has broken a record in France.

The system has sold through 6 million units, making it the best-selling video game platform in France…ever. It’s true, no other gaming platform has ever reached the 6 million sold mark. Congrats DS, you’ve set yourself up with quite a legacy.

Wii魔物獵人3 官網更新及Capcom獨占會談

Capcom updates Monster Hunter 3 site with Wii exclusivity talk

Earlier today, we heard some information that pointed to Monster Hunter 3 possibly going to another platform after it’s Wii release.

Capcom has since updated their official Japanese page for Monster Hunter 3 with a bit of info. They say that right now, they only plan to bring out a Wii version. They have nothing else to say at this time.
I think they are just keeping us all quiet for now. A Wii port to PSP would make sense, especially for the Japanese market. At the very least, we can be sure that the game will definitely hit Wii.

80萬台Wii在感恩節周售出,經濟風暴對任天堂一點影響也沒有

Iwata - 800,000 Wiis sold during Thanksgiving week, economical issues not impacting Nintendo

“When the economy is strong, people tend to buy three things from the top of their wish list. But when things are bad, people often buy only the first thing on their list. Fortunately for us a lot of shoppers put our products at the top of their list.” - Satoru Iwata
Iwata also dropped some details on sales of Wii and DS. According to the Nintendo president, the Wii managed to sell over 800,000 units during Thanksgiving week alone (in North America). That would beat out the 350,000 units it managed to sell during the same period last year. Not forgetting the portable side of things, Iwata confirmed that DS sales were up 20% during Thanksgiving week, when compared to sales during the same time last year (once again, North America only).

對惡魔城夢幻新作所存的一絲希望

Sources have told me that Igarashi had two ideas for this “next gen” Castlevania — one in 3D that’s more of an adventure game like Zelda, and another in 2D that’s more of a sequel to Symphony of the Night.
To be honest, either of those could be really cool. But there’s definitely one that I’m hoping to see more.
I ran into Iga at the Tokyo Game Show back on October and asked him about it. He couldn’t say, but the question brought a huge smile to his face. As much as I suspect we’re getting the 3D game, a big part of me wants to believe his smile hinted otherwise.

水口哲也正開發Wii的音樂遊戲

Mizuguchi working on Wii music game
Mizuguchi, the man behind Rez and Lumines, has announced that he is working on a music game for the Wii.
Right now, the only thing we know about the project is that it’s called ‘QJ’.

Mizuguchi hopes that this game will bring us a new way to play music titles, thanks to the Wiimote.
